The Royal Oak
Whether you are starting or finishing a walk or bike ride on the adjacent Tissington and High Peak Trail or simply just want a base to visit the nearby market towns of Bakewell, Ashbourne, and Buxton, The Royal Oak is a great base to explore and enjoy the all the varied activities and places The Peak District has to offer.

During Low season campervans will only be able to book a pitch in our campsite car park. Please note our campsite car park is on a gradient so we do recommend bringing levelers. We do have some wood/slabs which you are welcome to use - subject to availability. No vehicles will be allowed on our grass pitches - all vehicles must be left in our car park.
Booking ArrangementsBookings require a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance amount due 28 days prior to arrival. Last minute reservations will require a full payment at the point of booking. All deposits are non-refundable or transferable.
Camping PitchesOur picturesque campsite offers 19 grass pitches, with 3 different pitch sizes. We have standard pitches (6x8m), large pitches (8x10m), super pitches (8x12m or 6x16m). Our super pitches also come with exclusive use of a picnic bench and fire pit.
FacilitiesDuring our main season (April - October) all of our facilities are open to use. Our facilities include 6 toilets, 8 showers and 2 indoor and 1 outdoor plate washing sinks. During our low season (November - March) we operate on limited facilities; 2 toilets, 4 showers and 1 indoor plate washing sinks. Please note all of our facilities are unisex.
